Carlos Aires’s cross-border exhibitions and purchases (20/02/2021)


The works of Carlos Aires have recently been involved in Les Abbatoirs from Toulouse France, Spanish Bank, Belgium Bainaut District Museum, CA2M Museum and Galila Hollander’s private art collection, also from Belgium. The artist’s works were also included in the inventory of the Andalusian Center for Contemporary Art Collection in Seville. In addition to that he participated in the Short Century: MACBA Collection exhibition at the MACBA Contemporary Art Museum in Barcelona, Spain, with his video-installation Black Sea, dating 2013-2018. He also participated in Photoespana entitled Foto No Foto, which was seen between September 29, 2020 and January 16, 2021 at Alcobendas Art Center in Madrid  with his 2013 work Disaster.

The artist also attended the exhibition Bajo la Superficie (Miedos, Monstruos, Sombras) displayed at the Contemporary Cultural Center of the Duke of Conde in Madrid, curated by Javier Martín-Jiménez, between December 11, 2020 and April 11, 2021. He presented a solo exhibition entitled Nothing New at ADN Gallery in Barcelona between December 14 and February 29 and he created a video entitled “I want to break free” shown in April at Madrid Contemporary Art Center CA2M, which included his works in its collection. Aires also attended a group exhibition held between September 26, 2020 and January 3, 2021 at Le Delta in Namur, in the Belgian region of Wallonia with his 2018 installation All Seeing Eye, a three-dimensional and religiously referenced work.
