Isaac Chong Wai at Museum Schloss Moyland (25/02/2023)

From February 25 to May 21, 2023, a new exhibition series began, bringing the extensive collection and archival materials on Joseph Beuys into dialogue with younger international artists. The artists were invited to take part in conducting research on-site and to create new performances, paintings, drawings, and/or installations in the course of their artistic research on Beuys. Isaac Chong Wai opens this format with an exhibition and a performance. He responds to Beuys' material aesthetics and fundamental ideas such as growth, social transformation, and the audience's involvement in artistic processes. The artist, who works in Berlin and Hong Kong, represents a global perspective of political and poetic interdisciplinary art. In this show, the problems of contemporary global society meet Beuys' utopian designs of the 1960s/70s.
