Sim Chi Yin at Rencontres Internationales Paris/Berlin (18/11/2024)
Sim Chi Yin’s virtual reality work The Garden of No Return, created in collaboration with Dan Archer, was featured in the screening program of the Rencontres Internationales Paris/Berlin. This thought-provoking piece explores the impact of large-scale sand mining on Vietnam’s Mekong Delta and will be presented on November 24 at the Fondation Fiminco. Rencontres Internationales Paris/Berlin invited audiences to immerse themselves in seven virtual reality works under the theme Disrealities, Collages, and Utopia. These works challenge our notions of reality, question everyday perceptions, and reimagine our representations of the world. This year’s Rencontres Internationales Paris/Berlin took place across Paris from November 18 to 24, 2024, at iconic venues including Forum des Images, Gaîté Lyrique, Jeu de Paume, CWB Paris, Musée de la Chasse et de la Nature, and Fondation Fiminco.
Further, Rencontres Internationales Loods6/Amsterdam took place at Loods6 in Amsterdam from December 13, 2024 to January 5, 2025. For the first time, Rencontres Internationales Paris/Berlin expands its reach to Amsterdam, bringing a dynamic selection of works to a new audience. Sim Chi Yin’s The Garden of No Return was screened on December 14 and 15.
