Erkan Özgen’s solo exhibition ‘Off the Record’ deals with complex issues surrounding war, trauma, and violence. Özgen regards using explicitly violent images as desensitizing as it ruminates violence - rather than the actual people involved. The visual language makes tangible the violence and trauma people have witnessed, voiced by the witnesses themselves. The exhibition ‘’Off the Record’’ will be held at Rotterdam Kunsthal between the dates of April 2 - August 28, 2022.
